I have been here in Gainesville for a total of seven days and it’s been eye-opening. Let me give you a lay-out of how training works. Everyone lives in tents in the center of the forest. If y’all know me, you know I’m not a camping person. The forest is my favorite and least favorite thing in the world but even in that, God has taught me a lot. I can confidently say that I LOVE THE FOREST! My eyes have been opened to the deep beauty of the forest. It is so beautiful when it rains( which happens A LOT)! Going back to the structure; we have two sessions where we have a sermon which is considered our training along with group exercise activities. When I say these sermons have changed me drastically, believe me! I want to share with y’all some things that have been said and I hope they resonate with y’all!
1. To find out what truth is, abide by His word, it is always consistent
2. You can’t use Earthly tactics to tackle a Heavenly task
3. Are your prayers monologues or dialogues?
4. We need discipline our minds to focus on Kingdom thoughts by consistently living with him
5. When you speak lies about yourself every day, how do you think God feels about you talking to His child like that?
6. LIFE IS MINISTRY AND MINISTRY IS LIFE, you can not turn off and on when you will serve, you can serve in EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO( even in starbucks!)
7. Leave people better than you found them
8. God does not care how much information you know about the Spirit, He wants you to KNOW the Spirit
9. When you get constructive criticism, DON’T GET DEFENSIVE
10. DO NOT ASSUME PEOPLE’S INTENTIONS/MOTIVES
11. Q: How many times should I forgive? A: YES.
12. Continue to seek the Lord in order to be intimate with Him
13. How much joy are you willing to endure for the glory of God to come among the nations and in your family?
14. God is most Glorified when we are most satisfied in Him.
These messages have revolutionized how i perceive God and His people! I challenge all of you to SPEND TIME with Him. INTENTIONAL TIME! Scripture tells us that we don’t have to worry about ANYTHING for He WILL provide. Worry is a huge distraction for me and these past few days have taught me to SLOW DOWN and listen to my father speaking. I love you all immensely!
