We started our first day of ministry today! My team specially is partnering with Victory Church Cambodia. It is run by a Filipino couple, Ralph and Jane. They are incredibly sweet and devoted to the Lord’s work in Cambodia. We do something different everyday, Tuesdays are for evangelizing in the village, Wednesdays are for working with k-12, Thursdays are for working with University of South East Asia , Fridays are for cleaning the church,  Saturdays are adventure days for my team, and Sundays are for church. Monday is our sabbath! On Tuesday we went to a village about an hour away from our base. We. went to people’s homes and sat and listened to their testimonies. This village was majority christian( which is WILD). The fact the village is located in the center of a buddhist country is so edify to my soul. The Lord is undeniably here in Cambodia and it is evident in the village and so many other places. For instance, we went to Freedom Church on Sunday and the Holy Spirit was heavy in the room. We arrived to a huge building early Sunday morning that had boarded sections for children ministry at the entrance. We walked back to the sanctuary where rows and rows of believers sat. I don’t know why I was shocked. Maybe cause deep down, I expected only a handful of believers to be there. When I heard that christianity was only 2%, I supposed that it would be a low shot for me to meeting a couple of them but here they were, worshiping the Lord Almighty. I was stunned and humbled. The people greeted us with a joy and cheerfulness that can only be from the Spirit. They beamed when we approached, they ran and hugged us as if we were long lost friends reunited once again. I don’t think I have ever seen someone be so joyful to see people they have never met before. Funny thing was, we were also beaming to see them. To find believers renewed my faith in a way that I did not know I needed. We began worship and I expected to know none of the songs but all the sudden, they start the chord for Way-maker. I leaped for I knew this song!!! I was silenced with awe as I joined along my fellow brothers and sisters in praising the Lord. They sang the song in Khmer but man, it was gorgeous. I closed my eyes to soak in the moment when all the sudden, the lights, music and speakers all shut off. Panicked I looked around to see what had happened but the people kept singing without missing a beat. They did not let this stumble them from worshiping. I was once again stunned by the faith of these people. They sang with the same tenacity as before and when the system came back, they danced, shouted and roared the chorus. The only thing I could do was cheer alongside them and pray that God gives me faith like theirs. I want to praise him no matter, without ceasing, even when the enemy comes to break it. We finished service, went out to eat good food and chat with the people. After all this was over, we left but the effects they had on me remained in my heart. I have been consistently blown away by the work of the Lord here in Cambodia. I am amazed that He does not need me whatsoever but praise God that he asks me to join Him!! I have seen so much transformation within myself and those around me, its insane! I was scared to come to Cambodia but now that I am here, I never want to leave!! I will keep y’all updated. I want to start doing prayer request here on my blogs. Please pray that the Cambodian people’s are soften, that the blindfold that buddhism has put on these people be lifted for their hearts to accept the Lord’s love. We have been having great interactions but not seeing fruit quite yet and that comes with patience of course! I miss you all! Thank you for your sweet prayers already, they are making a huge difference!!!!
